Introducing Senang House: Boutique Coliving in Singapore’s East
Figment is opening a new home in the east — and it is one we are especially fond of. Senang House, at 86A Jalan Senang, brings our design-led coliving in Singapore to a quiet, leafy pocket between Kembangan, Eunos and Katong, with the first residents moving in from September 2026. It is our newest conserved home, and our first in this part of the island. We named it for a single Malay word that captures exactly how it should feel to live here.
A home named for ease
In Malay, senang means ease, comfort and quiet contentment — and that feeling shaped every decision in the house. The road it sits on was once kampung and farmland, and Senang House draws on that open, unhurried way of living, together with the hybrid culture of the Straits, where languages and everyday life naturally overlapped.
Rather than recreating the past, we kept what already carried the story: raw concrete, breeze blocks and the original decorative grilles, now repainted a soft mint green. Rattan and teak run through the furniture, while archival images of coconut groves, kampungs and riverbanks sit as quiet anchors rather than nostalgic decoration. Light interventions on a strong existing structure mean the house keeps its patina and character. The result is design-led coliving in the spirit of Figment’s other heritage homes: calm, textured and grounded in its place.

In the east, close to everything
Senang House sits minutes from Kembangan MRT on the East-West Line, so the rest of the island stays within easy reach. Paya Lebar Central, Changi Business Park and Changi Airport are all a short ride away, which makes the house a natural fit for people who work in the east. Closer still are the kopitiams, bakeries and Peranakan shophouse streets of Katong and Joo Chiat — the kind of neighbourhood where you can still find a good plate of laksa on a slow Sunday.
If you have been comparing coliving near Eunos MRT or coliving in Katong, Senang House adds a fresh option a stop or two further out — quieter, greener and with more room to breathe. It also keeps coliving near Paya Lebar MRT within comfortable reach for east-side professionals and anyone relocating for work.

Five rooms, thoughtfully made
The house has five bedrooms across two floors, each named in the hybrid vocabulary of the Straits:
- Santai — a compact, inward-facing studio with a private ensuite
- Jendela — the largest room, defined by its generous windows
- Suka — an easy, light-filled room
- Serambi — a breezy, verandah-like ensuite studio
- Loteng — a top-floor room tucked into the attic
Every room comes with a queen bed, a work desk and a washer-dryer. Residents share a light-filled living atrium, a full kitchen, the house’s sculptural spiral stairs and an 18.8 sqm roof terrace made for slow evenings — spaces designed to be lingered in, not just passed through. Several rooms include ensuite bathrooms for a little extra privacy.

All-inclusive, with no agent fee
Like every Figment home, Senang House is all-inclusive: WiFi, utilities and weekly housekeeping of the shared spaces are built into a single monthly rate, and there is no agent fee. Rooms are fully furnished and move-in ready, with flexible stays from three months in line with Singapore’s guidelines — so you can settle in without the usual friction of renting a place of your own. It is coliving built around ease, the same idea the house is named for.
