Private, fully furnished studio apartments in Singapore's heritage shophouses — from S$1,800/month, all-inclusive, on flexible 3-month leases.
Find My Boutique HomeStudio apartments in Singapore span the full spectrum — from compact condo studios in modern towers to heritage shophouse suites tucked behind timber shutters. Figment's studio apartments are the latter: private, fully furnished rooms in Singapore's gazetted conservation shophouses, across Tanjong Pagar, Chinatown, Jalan Besar, Joo Chiat, Geylang, Emerald Hill, and River Valley. What sets a Figment studio apart? Unlike a typical studio in a new-build condo, a Figment studio apartment sits inside a conserved double- or triple-storey shophouse — buildings with pitched terracotta rooftiles, original timber floors, and courtyard airwells. Every room is a private suite with its own key; you share only common areas (living room, kitchen, courtyard) with a small group of housemates. Sizes and pricing vary by house and location. Entry-level studios start at S$1,800/month at Temak House in Bukit Timah, rising to S$1,850 at Jalan Besar and Petain Road houses (Brick, Kongsi, Derby, Monochrome, Cavenagh, Allenby, Venus, Voyage, Peninsula), S$2,450 at Irama House on Mosque Street in Chinatown, S$2,700 at Vignette House on Neil Road in Tanjong Pagar, and S$2,950 at Canvas House on Blair Road. All Figment studio rentals are all-inclusive: every month's rent covers utilities (electricity, water, gas), high-speed fibre WiFi, and weekly cleaning of shared areas. There are no add-ons and no agent fee. Lease terms The minimum lease is three months, with a one-month notice period — far more flexible than the standard twelve-month commitment most Singapore landlords require. Figment holds URA-approved licences to rent on this basis. Applications are reviewed directly by Figment and you can typically move in within one to two weeks of approval. Who rents Figment studio apartments? Residents are typically working professionals between 25 and 40 — designers, entrepreneurs, finance and tech workers — either relocating to Singapore or between longer leases. Expats appreciate the furnished, move-in-ready setup; locals appreciate the community of interesting housemates and the heritage character that no modern condo can replicate. Location and MRT connectivity Figment houses are concentrated in central Singapore. Jalan Besar and Petain Road houses are walking distance from Farrer Park, Little India, and Jalan Besar MRT stations. Tanjong Pagar houses are a 5-minute walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT. Irama House in Chinatown is minutes from Chinatown MRT. Joo Chiat houses (House Rong, Obor-Obor, Still House, Teak House) are served by Dakota and Paya Lebar MRT. Emerald Hill and Orchard houses are near Orchard and Somerset MRT. If you are comparing studio apartments in Singapore and value heritage character, community, and lease flexibility over a larger floor plan, a Figment studio apartment is worth viewing.

Not so much, this is Figment’s vision of shared housing for grown-ups. We are not slicing and dicing apartments into cages just to stuff two hundred people into a building. With Figment you always have room to breathe. Socialise as much as you like, or choose to retire to your private studio within a huge 3000ft² shophouse.
Most definitely. We think you'd figure out a nice arrangement with your housemates if they would also like to work there.
The application process is easy and can all be completed online, or in-person if you’re local. First you’ll fill out the application form on our site by clicking the orange ‘Find My Home’ button. A studio apartment is defined as a small, self-contained apartment of 500ft2 or less. It usually houses everything you need in a single room with an en-suite bathroom.
Studio apartments are the perfect rental option for singles, whilst Figment’s furnished studio apartments are large enough to accommodate couples and co-sharing friends.
Our shophouse studio apartment rentals can comfortably accommodate up to two people. You might find that sharing a studio with your significant other would be much easier than sharing one with a close friend. That said, Figment provides spacious shared common areas for you to let loose beyond the confines of your studio.
Whole unit studio rooms are often prized for their affordable rentals, privacy and proximity to public transport due to their central locations. There’s also much less cleaning to do with less junk lying around!

Usually, the quality and number of amenities and options should improve as you move further East. Make sure to do some price research on the area in question on URA’s website so you don’t get ripped off. You might also want to use a property agent to help with your search.
According to the Council for Estate Agencies, to rent property in Singapore, you need to be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident. Non-citizens may rent if they hold an employment or work permit like an S-pass, a student pass, dependent pass or long term social visit pass. That said, even with foreigners holding legal residence, the problem is that most Singapore landlords may not be too pleased with a month-to-month lease agreement and would typically require at least a 1 or 2 year contract. Figment provides a much-needed, flexible alternative for studio apartment rentals with flexible lease terms and a 1-month notice period.
